A river runs through where I was born

[singlepic id=1484 w=320 h=240 float=left]

Many songs have been written about rivers..Sam Cooke, Prince Buster are my favourites

Gran murdered, I leave home, brother commits suicide as do many friends over time. Greenock shall either make or break you. My strength comes from with my discourse

Fight the power!

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I’ve been running ever since
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

PRINCE BUSTER

I am going to the river gonna jump over board and drown

The woman that I love said she aint gonna marry me no more

If you see my dear mother tell her goodbye for me

This goes on but he finishes by saying ‘They’ think I’m going to the river

Back stabbers!

Be careful out there people as the money dwindles and people are a little more uptight, aggressive and simply cunts…. and on the increase

Last of the Old Scheme

So looks like the old era has finally come to a close and modernity shall bring forth it’s conditioning. In some of the images we see the foundations laid for the new part of the Maukinhill, Strone Crescent area. I tell you when you travel these parts already it feels like a ghetto. More of a Ghetto than what it ever was.

Strone Crescents last for the chop

Hey, thought I’d bring you up to date with the Kilmacolm Road demolition. There’s on block left on Kilmacolm which is the corner of Strone Crescent. I asked the lads when these are coming down and I was told next week. I have some other shots of the new foundations which are being laid just behind Strone Crescent. I have to get out in the sun for an hour to do some business.

The Empire Strikes back comes to mind

Hi ah, i thought I’d add this little image of the Cranes at Hunterston. We managed to get beyond the fence and up onto the railway in order to achieve this perspective. They really do look like the machines from The empire Strikes back

The Choppy River Clyde

nice shot of the hills behind Dumbarton. These hills have a strange perspective and look massive from my home. In this images they are outshone by the river

One man and a boat

Tell you when your out on that river it is something else. When the sun sets here we see the river turn from silver to gold. The silver part is like liquid mercury but more silver and the silver melts into gold…the alchemy of the River Clydes water can turn bronze to silver and then silver to gold. Eurika
